Amidst the vibrant morning hues of August 13, 2023, the NSS Unit of the distinguished National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur orchestrated a resounding and spirited ‘Prabhat Pheri’, infusing the atmosphere with fervor as part of India’s exultant 77th Independence Day celebrations. Under the meticulous coordination of the esteemed registrar of NIT, Dr. N. K. Roy, Dean Dr.Prahalad prasad and Dr. Jayendra Kumar (NSS Coordinator), the event resonated with the collective enthusiasm of dedicated volunteers, spirited students, committed faculty members, and distinguished NIT Jamshedpur dignitaries. This distinguished gathering included notable personalities such as Dr. Nigam Prakash, Dr. Vijay Kumar Dalla, Dr. Braj Kishor Prasad, Dr. Shailendra Kumar, Dr. Nishith Kumar Rai and Dr. SB Prasad, who added their illustrious presence to elevate the event’s significance.
The ceremonial inauguration took place at the Children’s Park nestled within the Professors Colony, radiating a sense of serenity and promise. Embarking from this symbolic starting point, the Prabhat Pheri commenced its journey, traversing the well-trodden paths of NIT Golchakkar Road, meandering through the faculty quarters, and forging onward through the main gate until it reached the Ambedkar Chowk. From this pivotal juncture, the procession retraced its steps, meandering back to the heart of NIT through the discreet back gate, its momentum undeterred as it navigated the campus pathways, culminating at the Administrative Building.
Chants of ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai!’, ‘Vijaya Vishwa Tiranga pyaara hamara, Bharat desh mahan hamara’, and the resonant slogans “Meri Maati Mera Desh” and “Hum Sabka Ek Hi Sapna, Vishwa Guru Ho Bharat Apna” reverberated, encapsulating the undying spirit of patriotism and unity. Participants, with an unwavering commitment to maintaining the flow of traffic, continued their spirited march along Road no. 4 Adityapur. Their passionate strides were met with the fervent cheers of bystanders who, drawn by the energy, fervently joined the chorus, reinforcing the shared sentiment of national pride and identity.
As the sun climbed higher, the procession culminated at the NIT main gate, where participants were met with refreshments thoughtfully provided by the NSS Unit. The event’s triumphant conclusion at 8:00 AM marked not only the culmination of a remarkable journey but also the culmination of shared efforts and united purpose. Noteworthy speeches by Coordinator Dr. Jayendra Kumar, Registrar, and the President of NSS NIT Jamshedpur Mr. Ronit Kumar further underscored the significance of the occasion. This ‘Prabhat Pheri’ stands as an indelible testament to the potential of collaborative endeavors to ignite patriotism and unity.
