Exemplary performance by TSAF athletes during 27th National Sport Climbing Championship Trophy. Clinched 11 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze medals securing 51 points for East Zone.

Jamshedpur, December 26, 2023: Athletes from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy participated in the 27th National Sport Climbing Championship 2023 organised by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) in association with Gethnaa (General Thimayya National Academy of Adventure) at Bangalore from December 21 to 24.

Athletes from various parts of the country participated in the competition in all three categories of sport climbing (Lead, Speed and Boulder).

TSAF athletes made Jamshedpur proud by winning 22 medals, out of which there were 11 Gold, 7 Silver and 4 Bronze medals. East Zone was declared overall national champions during the competition and all the medals of east zone were won by athletes from TSAF. We have been named the overall national champions for the third consecutive time therefore continuing the winning streak. TSAF Athletes representing East Zone secured 51 points in total beating West, South, North, Northeast, Services & Police Zone. Total 160 athletes from 7 different zones across the country participated in the event and TSAF contingent was of 26 athletes.

Noteworthy performances from TSAF Athletes include:

–          Joga Purty won 3 Gold medals in all 3 disciplines i.e., Lead, Bouldering & Speed in Junior Girls Category

–          Savitri Samad clinched 2 Gold medals in Lead & Bouldering and 1 Silver medal in Speed in sub–Jr Girls Category. Savitri started climbing from Pipla Masti Ki Pathshala

–          Anisha Verma secured clinched 2 Gold medals in Lead & Bouldering and & 1 Silver medal in Speed in women’s category.

–          Rajesh Honhoga secured 2 Gold Medals in Bouldering and Silver in Speed in Sub Jr Boys category. Rajesh started climbing from Rajnagar Masti Ki Pathshala

–          Ronit Bandra secured 2 Silver medals in Bouldering & Lead in Jr Boys category.

–          Amar Khandwal won 2 Bronze medals in Bouldering & Lead in Sub Jr Boys category. Amar started climbing from Rajnagar Masti Ki Pathshala
