Jamshedpur, January 11, 2023: The convocation ceremony for the Aspiring Engineers Program (AEP) 2022 batch was held on January 10, 2024 at SNTI, Jamshepdur. The AEP, formerly known as the AET Program, was introduced in 2016 as a pioneering initiative for the recruitment and training of engineer trainees for various departments of Tata Steel.
The convocation ceremony was graced by Avneesh Gupta, Vice President, TQM and Engineering & Projects, Tata Steel as the Chief Guest. Also present during the occasion was Vinita Prakash, Chief HR, Engineering & Projects, Tata Steel.
55 trainees from the batch of 2022 graduated. Shrilaxmi J S was acknowledged as the topper from Civil Engineering, V Shriram secured the top position in EEI, and Subhayan Mal emerged as the topper from the Mechanical Branch. V Shriram was also honored as the batch topper of AEP 2022.
The Aspiring Engineers Program, organised by Engineering Development and Innovation Centre (EDIC), Tata Steel, is a comprehensive 1-year training initiative designed to train college graduates into industry-ready professionals. The program uniquely integrates 6 months of classroom training with an additional 6 months of on-the-job experience, ensuring a well-rounded skill set. In addition to technical training, the program recognizes the importance of holistic development by incorporating various sports activities, promoting physical well-being, teamwork, and camaraderie among the participants.
The AEP continues to exemplify Tata Steel’s commitment to nurturing engineering talent and fostering holistic development, equipping individuals with both technical expertise and essential soft skills to thrive in the industry.
